SEMAGLUTIDE & Tirzepatide

Semaglutide is a once a week injectable medication that belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor antagonists, or GLP-1 RAs. It mimics the GLP-1 hormone, released in the gut in response to eating. One role of GLP-1 is to prompt the body to produce more insulin, which reduces blood sugar. It also slows down your gastric emptying, so you feel full for longer.

Tirzepatide is also a once a week injectable medication that works by activating the GIP and GLP-1 receptors. It also slows down your gastric emptying, so you feel full for longer. Tirzepatide works to decrease blood sugar levels by increasing insulin production and also lowering the amount of sugar the liver makes. It also slows the rate food passes through your body which makes you feel full longer, and this may be one of the ways it may help weight loss.

A consultation, recent lab work and physical are required before starting these medications.
